Sudden boredom

6pm: I had just returned home from work which I thought really went awful throughout the day and was looking for something to spike myself up. In few minutes, I was browsing the TV channels with the remote and in a hope to watch anything interesting. You should try jumping up and down the channels when you have just got a choice of 3 (!!!!!). It is awfully interesting (u get the picture, right?).
Yea here was I, trying to persuade my roomies (and myself) to get out of the apartment and indulge in a forced walk in the evening. Nah!!! No one, including me, would budge to that idea. They would rather get a smoke to think on a nice plan to get the evening going. Cigarette was all burnt up to the butt and brain remained numb even then. It is believed that sitting on a sofa, stretching your legs and hanging your head on to your shoulders would send some sparking signals to the brain. Alas!! I would say that did no good and soon the brain was dead and we could hear each other snore (okay that was just some exaggeration).
I could still smell of some work (yea, my nose gets it) and then quickly realized I hadn’t changed my clothes yet. Ahhhhh!! Atleast this should lead me to something good…unfortunately no, all I had to do was to throw my formals and wearing my shorts. That wasn’t interesting.
8pm: the sun was still out refusing to give way to the moon. And all topics seem to be exhausted for any discussion. Voila!! There was a plan…perhaps something good can be cooked tonight. We immediately dashed to the kitchen but that 4 letter 'f' word *&*& (btw, i was thinking 'fate') had some other plans for us. No stock of rice left anymore and we were left with only roti ka aata. My head nodded sideways (which means ‘NOOOOOOOO’). Again we were lying on the carpet thinking about the fate of the day. Curses were sworn on the gloomy weather which neither brought rain nor fresh air. Totally dull.
‘Internetttttttttttt’. THE SAVIOUR, we thought. All headed to our laptops and logged on to the messengers. Maybe this is what you call coincidence and only our names popped up to be online on each other's comp and we ended up chatting with each other sitting in individual rooms. Even the virtual world didn’t seem to trickle our brain cells for any adventure.

Soon, everyone was offline and back to the hall for a serious discussion on boredom. We were so pitiable creatures for we had no words to explain ‘boredom’. People talk about ‘freedom’, perhaps they should have a debate on ‘which is a hindrance to the development of mankind? Lack of freedom or Plenty of boredom’.

Yea, music. Why didn’t it occur to our numb brains? Laptops were playing music immediately. We had only one problem, though. Everyone was playing his own fav song; imagine listening to rock, metal and Punjabi in unison. I would never term it as ‘jugalbandhi’. So what next?? Movies??? There was no dearth of DVDs. Skimming through the blocks of disks only irked our heads further. Every damn picture had been watched so many times that the DVD player just wouldn’t play that thing.

Until yesterday, all things were bright and beautiful and life was fun. Why the sudden change that day ???? Mammaa (crying)…my brain was hurting..wait, did I say it hurted? So, it didn’t really go numb.

11pm: There were some grumbling noises heard and we knew our stomachs were empty too (what else was empty??!!). It amuses me how a call from the belly (a by-product of you-know-what profression) just so wakes you up that you are dressed the other second to hit to the nearby eatery.
Greek food welcomed us and we obliged. There were obviously enough things (heheh) to keep us engaged during the course of our dinner and we were heading back to our place burping all the way. Back home, everything appeared different then. Maybe, we waited for a new dawn.

Though, I do wonder what was the cause for the sudden boredom that gloomed over us (??).
